  • Medanta - The Medicity made a significant contribution to its history by setting up a dedicated Radiation Oncology division. Living upto Medanta’s mission of providing individualized care with compassion and commitment, the division is aimed to benefit the patients (both, cancerous and non-cancerous) by enhancing their quality of life.

  • In continuation to Medanta’s commitment of being the pioneers in the field of medical care, the Division of Radiation Oncology started using The VMAT (Volumetric Arc Therapy) on Infinity and SBRT/SRS on Synergy-S, a first of its kind in India, Linear accelerators for more advanced and accurate cancer treatments.

  • With the introduction of CyberKnife VSI system, the first system to be ordered in South Asia, on 23rd December, 2011, Medanta Division of Radiation Oncology brought on board the most versatile and technologically advanced machine that could enhance and improve the lives of patients.

  • With the arrival of CyberKnife VSI model on 22nd July, 2012, Medanta - The Medicity benchmarked its name in bringing the most advanced technological system to the world of Indian Healthcare. The system got installed by 8th of September, 2012 and completed its commissioning phase, which included comprehensive and rigorous tests and practices. By 8th of October, 2012 South Asia’s first CyberKnife VSI model was installed and ready to be used at Medanta Division of Radiation Oncology, also, by 25th of the same month we successfully treated our first patient on CyberKnife VSI system.

  • Soon after installing the CyberKnife VSI system we started rendering its painless treatment to all the suitable patients across the globe and by 5th of May, 2013 we had already treated 100 patients, which was at par with other hospitals that were using the older techniques. In a time span of 6 months, by 14th November, 2013, we had completed around 200 successful cases at Medanta - The Medicity and achieved a remarkable accomplishment in the country and abroad.

  • The constant increase in the number patients looking and opting for incisionless and ‘pain-less’ treatment has made us proud of the decision of introducing CyberKnife VSI system and providing the best possible care for our patients. Now, our aim is to go beyond the count of 350 patients, already treated by 3rd June, 2014, with the help of this latest technology that has helped us advance and excel in what we promise to deliver.
